Cool Eu students all over Europe UNITE

    Dear all,

    Greeting from Greece.

Just a brief opening about explaining my situation. I am 27 year old and before 2 years I have graduated from College doing my BS in Biomedical Science. Now i am working in a private clinic here in Greece focusing in laboratory examination.

I have several years of experience in the field of medicine (as a volunteer and as a paid job). I am an active Medical Scientist till i was studying in university. I have published several biomedical articles and I have presented my dissertation to 2 different congresses.

I am willing to sit UKCAT or BMAT this year additionally to any English language test might need if finally conclude that there is chance to succeed enter to a Medical school in UK. I chose UK because of English language and because it stands closer to my country

The idea of medicine was in my mind since I was a little kid but now is stronger than ever. Here in Greece the chances to get in a Medical school are low because the only criteria in my BS degree grades. (Always better grades existed)

I am just asking to hear your experience on the matter (Eu students only).
Does anyone tried before?? Any difficulties noted?? University preferred?? Suggestions on GEM or a 5-year course?? (Please justify your thought)

I am willing to hear all the stories of every EU student that have tried to do similar.
    Any advices/information/suggestions are well appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

Instant disadvantage at UKCAT if English is not your 1st language

Have you sat your UKCAT exam yet?
I come from Hungary and been living in the UK for 4 years. I speak fluent English, my husband is English but I must admit I found the UKCAT exam challenging because of the language issue. I got quite a low score despite practising my a..e off. I think it is unfair that med schools do not discriminate when it comes to non-English speakers. It is obvious, the UKCAT test is so much easier for someone whose native language is English. Wish med schools would see that...
