    Question Nottingham/Leeds/St.Andrews-Manchester

    Hello everyone,

So far I have been offered a place for the St.Andrews-Manchester 6 years program. I still awaiting response from Leeds and Nottingham. I don't want to leave it at last minute to decide where I would go. I like the medicine program at all three, but if the time comes, I don't really know which one I would pick. I have personally checked out Nottingham and its gorgeous! But the other two, well I have seen only what is available on the websites etc.

So I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice as to which one I should be choosing (if the need to CHOOSE actually arises!).

    Thanks loads!

Well it depends what you want really.

St Andrew's is a very small town (and I mean tiny!) and everything there is really cosy. I'm sure the pre-cinical course will be equally nice in that you'll get to know everyone on it, cos there can't be that many of you. Moving cities in the middle might be a bit strange, but if you don't mind it then do as you please.

Rent in St Andrews is probably going to be a bit more expensive than in the other places, but I have no real evidence for this other than that I am lookign for a place there now and the rent is a bitch compared to NEwcastle, but newcastle could just be cheap.
There are lots of international people there though, mainly americans from what I hear on the street there.

I don't know about Leeds or Nottingham, other than that the cities are significantly bigger than St andrews.

Now I've obviously not gone to any of these universities so I can't really offer any more advice.
I'd have a bit more of a look at the course structures and decide that way, see if any of them strike you as being more suited to you.

    Good Luck.

Oh yeah the only other thing I was going to add was, St Andrews does not have an airport so I wouldn't fancy regularly travelling internationally from it, although I am sure it can be done. xx

Thank you so much for all your help, timo818 and Fried_Rice! I think as of now, I am going to wait for a scholarship reply from St. As, if it works, then its an easy decision from there, otherwise will be stuck again! Lolz...

Hey, I'm in the same situation. I got offers from St. Andrews, Nottingham, Barts and HYMS and can't decide where to go!
So I waited to hear back about a st. A's scholarship, but didn't get it, so I'm stuck again...
But from what I hear, St. Andrews is more recognised when trying to get residency (especially if you're trying to get back to Canada which I might be) so may give you a better chance, but nottingham also has the BsC and is a year shorter (and so a lot less expensive overall).
The good thing about Nottingham is that it seems to have more student life and societies/athletics, as well as being in a bigger sity. My sister is at st. andrews right now and she has to take a bus to edinburg, then fly to london, then back to toronto.

... I just realized, I was interviewed for Nottingham on the same day as you. Did you have it in person at the school as well?
