    Anyone actually consider Biomedical Sciences...

Like many (I imagine) I scrambled to get my UCAS submitted on time and without doing a whole lot of research randomly chose Manchester Biomedical Sciences as my fall-back 5th choice.

Anyway, Just received a conditional offer from them today (condition is to complete my bachelors degree in the US with at least a 3.0) I've not really heard from the medical schools (other than transcript requests and letters of acknowledgement) but Im wondering if anyone from the US or Canada has actually gone the Biomedical Sciences route. I read the website but couldn't really gather a purpose for the degree. I'll have my undergraduate BS in Psychology after this summer.

    Thanks!

is this biomedical science program a masters degree or an undergraduate degree? If its an undergrad, it looks like you already have one so it would kind of be a waste of time and money...
    Canadian Applicant 2010:

    BSc. biomedical sci... UKCAT:650

    1. Warwick... rejected
    2. Leicester 5... rejected
    3. Nottingham 5... rejected
    4. Newcastle 5... interview 02/03/2010... conditional offer! (for durham campus)

I agree the bio-med is a waste of time since you already have an undergrad.
I applied for bio-med at Manchester last year whilst applying for medicine and got a place but I rejected it on the advice of my director of sixth form and other doctors who said re-apply then think about doing an undergrad to get in if I failed to get in again. Bio-med is the more research and theory side of medicine and this is why people who don't get into medicine take it to apply as a grad student but in your case you already have an undergrad so there's really no point for you. As long as you have a BSc they don't care what subject you do, its just that bio-med is the most applicable so my advice is to drop it, it's a waste of your time.
