    hi there,

I left HK 6 years ago to do a degree. Graduated 2 years ago and now looking for work.

    I'm thinking...
    Barts
    St. Georges
    Swansea/ Nottingham/ Keele/ Peninsula
    Glasgow

Can I ask Zhangyuzhi why you quit CUHK to come here? I would give anything to study there but...my grades aren't good enough and got rejected twice already so I don't think applying a 3rd time would change anything.

hi niccybird! so you are applying to GEPs I assume?

the reason I quitted is because I dont like it. They train doctors, which is not my desirable path. I am more towards this clinical scientist thing.

plus it is not that hard to get into CUHK really, compared with top medical schools outside HK. I find it much harder to be competitive here rather than in HK. maybe try applying the 3rd time- they increased the number of intake this year

    good luck with applications.

Re: Dear HONG KONG International applicants

    Hmmm...that's getting me thinking.

I did work experience at PWH and I really enjoyed it even though it was years ago, which was what led me to CUHK. However, the surgeon I overshadowed, who is also an admissions tutor told me that with a 2(i), I would have a very slim chance of being shortlisted for an interview unless I had something else to offer that made it impossible for them to reject me. Nevertheless, it's given me something to think about after all the fuss with UCAS.

For Barts and Glasgow, I'm thinking of applying for their normal 5 year programme. For St. Georges/ Nottingham/ Keele, I'm thinking of their graduate programme (that said, I can only apply for the graduate programme at st. georges anyway).

    Nic

just give it a try. if they reject you for the 3rd time, you will still be as good as you are now! I mean if at the end of the day, you wish to go back HK to practise, a degree from HK unis will be more or less mandatory- they apparently dont like overseas qualifications.

absolutely no interest. not a place for science.

If I would like to practise there I would have taken the offer 4 years ago I made my choice already.
