hi all,

when should one expect an interview/offer from med schools in uk. I am a canadian student waiting anxiously (fingers crossed)..

have u heard from any school yet?

Some schools give interviews really early for international students like HYMS. I believe most schools are giving out interviews now.

ya i did. uoft does not give out predicted grades. bummer

So what did you do? It seems like my university is determined to make this difficult... its just a simple e-mail.... why they have to be so tight about it is a mystery to me...

my registrar basically threw me to the wolves and told me to fend for myself.

your best bet is to beg the UK univerisities or just take an year off and apply for 2010-2011 after your degree is completed.

but ya... i called up the schools im applying to, and they said they have received canadian apps with predicted grades. how they got it is beyond me tho.

are you saying they would actually reject you based on the grounds that you can't provide predicted grades, which lets face it is not exactly an accurate science... that doesnt sound fair...

worst case scenario if the faculty doesnt do it, I think i can get an advisor in the bio dept to do it for me...

Interviews will be given all the way through to April (and possibly even may) and half of my friends last year didn't even receive acknowledgments for their application till after January so don't worry about that.

As for the predicted grades, its to give them an idea of what you should be able to achieve and yes they can reject you on a basis of not having predicted grades but this applies more to national students then to international students so I'm not quite sure about it.

As for the uni's leaving you to your own it happens in the UK too, they don't want you to study abroad which is why I haven't told my uni`s that I'm studying at Mac in my gap year because I know they'd turn around to me and say F off go back to canada we dont want you here.

turns out you were right the faculty and the department were useless. I emailed warwick... i guess i'll see what they say.... I can try the registrar too, see if i get lucky...

i ended up asking one of my prof who got his degree in europe, thus is much more understanding of my situation.

the problem now is that if i can get the letter on time since hes PhD candidate is doing the oral defense in 2 weeks...

yes they can reject you on a basis of not having predicted grades

update:
got rejected from glasgow based on that, even though i have provided a full transcript and a letter from the registrar stating that predicted grades are not available right now.


so Kam14... beg,cry,nag,kill,w/e. get those predicted grades at all costs and get it fast
