    Advice: Prepare for the interview. I believe that once you are called for the interview you are more or less at the same playing field as everyone else. Do well on the interview, and you put yourself at an advantage. Marks are not everything.

    Yes, I see your point re parallel streams for IMGs, however, increased funding/spots for Canadian med students/residency might lead to a decrease in the number of IMG residency spots......and in any event, I still think the return of service requirement is ridiculous. I agree with you re the increase competition levels for IMG spots.

    hmm you're right I hadn't thought of that. Funding is always going to be a major issue (which is why so many of us have to go international in the first place). In any case bottom line is any Canadian considering UK/other country for medical school should NOT count on getting residency in Canada. The good thing is if you do residency in the UK its not that hard to come back upon completion of training:

    hi all,

    when should one expect an interview/offer from med schools in uk. I am a canadian student waiting anxiously (fingers crossed)..

    I received an interview offer from Glasgow yesterday.
    2010 International Graduate Applicant:

    1, St Andrews - acknowledged
    2, Aberdeen - acknowledged
    3, Glasgow - interview (withdrawn)
    4, Warwick GEP - [COLOR="Red"]interview[/COLOR

    Some universities have been asking me for predicted grades from my university. Have any of you been asked for this? Where do you get it from?
    Canadian Applicant 2010:

    Talk to your guidance counsellor or registrar at university.
    2010 Medicine (in order of preference)

    Oxford GEP (REJECTED)
    Imperial GEP (CONDITIONAL OFFER)

    ya i did. uoft does not give out predicted grades. bummer

    i dun imagine you would need predicted grade right? seeing how you are doing a master already, you must have finished your undergrad.
