quick question....do you guys think it would be okay to call leicester and see if they can assess my application ASAP, so that since I'm going to the UK in Jan for Dundee, then I don't have to make a trip twice??
The last time I spoke with Leicester was around a week-2weeks ago, and they hadn't assessed my application at all yet.....hadn't gotten to it yet!

I wouldn't push it those people can hold a grudge but you're an international applicant so it's more then reasonable but personally I would wait... but there's no harm in trying although I think now may be a little too late for them to start assessing it in time to set everything up.

Just out of curiosity, how does everyone plan to fund their studies? Tuition is several folds higher in the UK as an international student. Does anyone know whether the provincial agencies like OSAP fund medical studies abroad? Thanks in advance.

last I checked OSAP only funds $210/week maximum for studies outside of ontario. That's for each week of school so summer break doesnt count. I'm not sure about other breaks.
Obviously this isn't enough so I'm going to have to take out a huge LOCCanadian Applicant 2010:
BSc. biomedical sci... UKCAT:650
1. Warwick... rejected
2. Leicester 5... rejected
3. Nottingham 5... rejected
4. Newcastle 5... interview 02/03/2010... conditional offer! (for durham campus)

Hey Everyone,
Has anyone found a bank that will give a healthy LOC, without a co-signer? I hope everyone has had a good experience with this, and did not have to fly across the Atlantic more than once.

RBC is pretty good, but if you're leaving Canada (apart from US) I'm fairly certain you will need a co signer

[QUOTE=Canadiangirl22;701136]Hey guys,
I know many Canadians apply to UK med schools each year. So I thought we could get an idea of how many of us are applying and from where.
1) Where are you from?
2) Where are you applying?
3) What % range are you in (e.g. 80-85, 85-90, 90-95)
4) Any advice you have or any info you can offer regarding Canadians applying to UK schools.
1) Vancouver BC
2) I've applied to Leicester, Birmingham, St. Georges Uni of London, and St. Andrews (Scotland) - most likely going to Leicester!!!!!
3) 90-95%
