Transferring from france to UK
Hi all,
I'm a UK citizen in 3rd year med school in France. Are there any chances I could transfer to a UK school without having to start all over again?
Thanks for you help

It's highly unlikely. Contact the schools directly and see what they say.
Could end up at any one of these by 2010:
King's College London. That'd be for 5 years.
Hull or York. Again, this would be for half a decade.
Leeds. I imagine that it's not quite five years actually, but that's the general idea.
Cambridge. The idea here is that you spend three years and nine months becoming a doctor. That really is quite a bit less than 4 years.
Might even end up at Oxford. I threw in PPP as a long shot. I like Biology that much.

hmmmm that's what I thought.
Thanks for replying.
I have another question then. I heard it wad possible for international students (at least for EU students) to apply for F1 and F2 years and then continue in the UK...under condition that they have a MD...
Well my problem is that in France they only give you your MD after your internship. Which is OK for the F1 application because they have a list of equivalences. But my question is who gives us our MD...to resume, UK students get theirs after med school, which I won't have, and if I come to the UK for F1 etc. the UK won't give it to me....I don't know if I'm very clear...
Thanks again!

Which university are you at? Are you in Paris? It might make all the difference if you're at a world class university and it might be worth contacting the UCL and Oxbridge.
Also, if you're on an integrated programme it's probably going to be impossible. If you're in a traditional course, pre-clinical and clinical, then you may be able to transfer. I mention Oxbridge and UCL as they have a policy of allowing transfers between preclinical and clinical.
What's happened to make you want to transfer to the UK? It's highly unlikely that you'll be able to transfer because of the integrated nature of so many courses in the UK now, unless there are exceptional circumstances. The fact that you've had a completely different style of teaching and experienced a different system would probably count against you, although if you actually decide to plead your case with the UK universities, it could be turned into an advantage.Could end up at any one of these by 2010:
