American Interested in Applying to UK Medical Schools

Is there anyone (from the US or anyone else, for that matter) who has applied to both a US and UK medical school? As an American undergraduate student, I find myself completely and utterly confused by the requirements necessary for matriculation into UK medical schools. I have taken the MCAT twice in hopes of admission to an American medical school, but I am also considering the possibility of moving abroad for medical study and possibly furthering a career in medicine abroad (particularly in the UK). My scores are fairly competitive here (GPA and MCAT), and I have already finished the prerequisites for both UK and US medical schools (and then some). Could anyone please enlighten me on the application process to UK medical schools for international students? I know that many UK medical schools accept the MCAT as a measure of a students potential in medical school, but I have no clue as to what is considered a "good" MCAT score by UK medical school admissions standards. What about GPA? Any help that anyone might be able to provide me would be greatly appreciated, as I am about to begin the arduous process of applying to medical school here in the States next week. Thanks!

Most British schools won't care about the MCAT but they'll expect your GPA to be > 3.50. Most of the Irish school are acceseible to you via the Atlantic Bridge programme and they ask for the MCAT. If you have >27, you'll be just fine.
