have u heard of a chinese student who is one of the best student in malaysia, who did extreamely well in stpm , were not being offered a place to study medicine??
I never say all malays are of 6As or so. There are still malays who have done great. But ,the example i gave earlier was a fact. And, maybe they are not accepted in the UK , what about Russia. One of my friend told me anyway.
Ps: don't take it the wrong way. I am not saying that all the malays are bad or anything. There are chinese students who did not do well also.
One more thing, although the kuota thing has been illiminated, but it somehow still exist. Just in another form.

This thread has turned into a battleground!! Sorry, I certainly did not mean to create friction between the malaysian users of this forum (I am definitely not an argument 'stirrer'), it was simply an innocent enquiry about the high number of malaysian students doing med in the uk. Sorry if I have offended anyone, and do accept my apologies. The Malaysian system seems very very complicated to me... by the way, if Malays are the minority, how come they are running the country? Wasnt Mahathir a Malay? and the current president too? quite confused really about thw whole thing...

Warwick (GEP) - Offer (Declined)

They're not a minority- Malays are (if I remember Std 4 KT right! I hated KT so much!) 60% of the country? And Mahatir is Malay, as is Badawi, the current PM.
And we weren't arguing, we're ... debating peacefully. And shrugging
Our system is complicated... but then so are we.

i will not accept your apology MGR,because i dont think u did anything wrong

yeah, malays are not minority.we are majority.but sadly somehow we are lagging from others in many ways.but we are heading the right direction though.
and Ching,Badawi is the name of our PM`s father.our PM is Dato Seri Abdullah bin Ahmad Badawi.and yes,i dont feel like i`m in any battleground.just a harmonious debate.
faith, sometimes its luck.but the degree of the complicatedness i think is still less to than of medicine uk!in malaysia u dont have PS,Interview(but going to start soon),or reference from teachers.just fill in your grades and co-curricular activities, choose 8 universities, and fingers crossed.thats why,as my friend who is doing medic in UKM told me,there`s a small number of her friends sort of regretting doing medic bcoz either they dont really know the nature of the course, let alone the workload of a doctor, or the were pushed by their parents or friends who think that"ohh u got high grades aa?so u do can become a good doctor!"
having a chance to do medic in uk really make me fully equipped with the necessary info about the course and the job.not that i dont know why i wanna be a doc in the first place, but i dont think i will have in-depth perspective about medicine before actually studying it if i`m not appying for the uk univs.
i was a pre medic student in universiti islam antarabangsa so i know that i entered medic with less knowledge compared to now where i`m waiting to get into uk univ this september.
leonard what are u doing now?(sorry if this has been told before)
