I need a Rheumatology consult
pharmacological therapy of osteoarthritis :
1.NSAID,and if using non-selective COX1/2 inhibitors then adding omeprazol to limit their gastrotoxicity
2.Antidepressants
3.Chondroprotective agents(glucosamine,chondroitin sulfat...)
Is this valid contemporary therapy of Osteoarthritis?
Also,is it confirmed that selective COX2 inhibitors(NSAID) arent more effective then standrad,traditional non-selective COX1/2?
Do you suggest using selective inhibitors always when treating Osteoarthritis? To Succeed You Have to Fail, says Samuel Beckett.
''Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better'' - Samuel Beckett
