    Internal Med

    Can you still have internal medicine on its own as an area of medicien or is it more specialised these dayz?

    It tends to be more specialised these days. Mostly specialties like respiratory medicine, gastroenterology and geriatrics do general medicine as well. Although there is a new specialty called 'acute medicine' currently being developed - its exact role is still not 100% clear but it looks like it will have a massive expansion and probably take over most of the general medicine from the other specialties.
