There's very little about the collaboration. Managed to discover the following though (after a rummage!) In May 2003, the Medical Studies Committee, Imperial, stated:-

"Talks had been taking place with Thames Valley University (TVU) with a view to widening access to medicine. A joint arrangement was being explored whereby students would complete a foundation year in Human and Biological Sciences at TVU from which there were to be a number of exits. One of these would be to join the first year of the MBBS course at Imperial, this was to be limited to the top few students (probably around six) who had achieved excellent marks throughout their time at TVU." Don't know if they plan to accept more than 6.

In March of this year, Senate (Imperial) approved the Foundation Course at TVU. There are still places available through UCAS Extra and probably Clearing.

Full details of the course at TVU (BSc Hons Human Sciences) can be found here:-

Info about progression to Imperial under 'Further Information' section.

I was considering applying for this course. The thing that concerned me is, if you were to do this course and were unlucky enough not to be accepted into Imperial, you would be stuck doing a degree you weren't really interested in. Also, if i were going to do a human sciences degree, there are probably places with better facilities...

But its definitely an option! Wish there was more info as when i've enquired its been a bit hazy.
