yer im sure the family set up is everywhere. i just never here any of my mates talking about it (from other med schools) and when i mention it they always say thats such a good idea. so i assume that its more known and established at some medical schools and not others.

the tutorials are run by senior students. usually 4th year or above. it always amazes me that these people who are teaching us are students too because they understand absoultely everything in more than 1 dimension

I think the medfamily scheme is normally just to help 1st years out - but having a full system is really good. Might as well learn to teach as soon as possible.

everywhere probs does have a "family" set up, but icsm are a bit better at setting it up and following it through the years than others is the impression i get from mates at otehr places.

we got our own student union aswell, makes a big difference to welfare and social etc, as opposed to a medsoc that other medschools have. we have a full student union, with sabbatical president etc that is there entirely to represent you as a med student.

to be honest tutorials tend to be set up through sports clubs and societies rather than the SU, so id advise joining one.
