i want to echo what jdr06 said, evelyn gardens is really good as its only a 15min walk to campus and when you're down at charing cross its only 1 bus, the sainsbury on the doorstep provides most things

jdr06, they had the same thing last year when i applied for halls where you apply in may but don't find out where you're living until about september

ps live in fisher its cheap, i do

you're only down at charing cross once or twice in the first term
in term 2 you go down at least once a week and sometimes up to 3 times depending on where some of your tutorials are

NB: the medical school union bar is at charing cross

i think its 1 bus the number 10 or 9 but i have no idea how long it takes as i've only made that journey once during fresher's fortnight (enough said), and i tend to walk to most places (it takes about an hour on foot)

the 10 bus isnt that long to charing cross, depends heavily on the traffic going down hight street ken as it goes down that route, no longer than half an our plus 5min walk from hammersmith brdway to charing cross hospital.

freshers fortnight is ace, probably the ultimate thing we actually do over oxbridge. 2weeks, no lectures (that you have to go to), events organised for every night, pub crawls, boat trips down the thames, freshers ball (last years was at cafe de paris) and various other great events that get thought up closer to the time. medics have their own student union, hence run all their own events and sports clubs and they tend to be a damnsite better than ic run events, so if people ever say the social life at ic sucks, thats true, but not for the medics.
