im a second year medic at imperial. any other questions just ask. at the interview youl be able to ask loads of questions about the interview. make sure you get interview practice in beforehand ask at school or something, it definitely helps.

I'm never gonna get an interview at Imperial with BMAT scores of 4.7, 6.5 and 6.0, am I?

Well I got into cambridge with a score of 6, 6.2, 6, and was so surprised, so don't give up yet! Hopefully they're just not going to look at the essay mark too much for Imperial although I know that they prefer half marks in all sections.

My essay mark was as low as yours, and I can't remember what i wrote, so I ll be screwed if they ask me to explain the points i made in my essay. What is the proportion of interviews compared to applicants, I know cambridge is like 90% and oxford is 40%? Do imperial put more weight on certain sections of BMAT, and do they rank the BMAT and only interview the highest scorers.
Oh, and to those to didn't receive confirmations, don't be worried cos its probs just got automatically spamed by hotmail or yahoo (atleast thats what happened to mine)

Ooh, i guess my confirmation could have been spammed by hotmail!
I just hope nothing else important has been! Time to reduce the filter level I think!

i really think people put way too much emphasis on the BMAT... it's merely some form of organizing otherwise identical straight A students, with the same extra curricular activities... However, if your personal statement is outstanding, but ur BMAT essay was not so great.. I don't see why they could simply disregard you... They would obviously ask you about ur personal statement to test its authenticity...

but who knows, my UKCAT scare wasn't extremely high (650 before AR, about 600 after AR) yet I still got called for interview.. and the UKCAT was much easier compared to the BMAT...

This isn't totally medicine related, but if you applied to imperial medicine and also imperial biomed, do the admissions tutors look down on you? and if you performed badly in the medicine interview, would that also disadvantage your biomed application (cos i m guessing they are taught by the same people) ?

no, they do not 'look down on you'. I have heard of quite a few people here who have applied for more than one course here, and got in for both, one or none at all so it depends of the application but not on your other options.

The two courses are in different departments so it's unlikely they have the same lecturers. biomed is Life science and medicine is medicine.

biomed is in the same dept and they do have some of the same lecturers for things like molecular cell biology which both courses cover. no they dont look down on you for applying to both, i did and got offers from both.
