Hi there. Congragulations, your are almost there. To tell you the truth, IC is huge and it is ranked 17th in the world university list and 3rd in Europe. (you can't get much bigger than that!!). I had my interview on the 4th of Feb and got an unconditional offer. The people there are very friendly and the medical faculty feels like one big happy family! The interview is only as nerve racking as you make it out to be. For me it was a nice and relaxed chat with a panel of medical tutors. There isn't a general list of questions they can ask, but be sure they'll ask you about your personal statement and your hobbies etc. They may question your commitment to medicine and ask you why (but you knew that!). They asked me about science in general since that's where I shone in school. 2 simple advice apart from the 'be yourself' and 'prepare well' nonsense:

1. Don't be nervous, the panel will put you at ease. If you are nervous, just think: 'they are meeting a new person, they will be just as nervous ddep down'. They just have a 'funny' way of showing it!! The way I see it, they just wanted me to get into discussions with them. Because half of what I said was wrong and they wanted me to correct myself after being prompted etc. They don't expect you to know everything!!

2. Never write anything down on a piece of paper and bring it into the interview. You'll (or not) see people do this for the pre-interview question. It shows the interviewer 2 things. One, you cannot think on your feet and they might choose to get into a more challenging discussion just to 'punish' you. Two, Unless you can multi-task like Windows XP on a 3.6 gigahertz athlon computer, you'll be distracted and forget what you actually want to say!!

GOOD LUCK!! remember, the interviewer want you to succeed because they want to teach you, not to mock you for 15 minutes - they've done enough of that with the current medical students!!!

They were really friendly there actually, students and staff. I went on the tour, so was there the whole flippin day! By the time my interview came, I'd been so bored, I wasn't nervous, and I think that helped. I think if you are yourself and don't try too hard, you'll charm the pants off them anyways!
Practically though, I think its the usual, know your PS, eye contact, big smile , ridicoulously (sp?) short skirt, etc
Good Luck!

I won't lie- the interviewers on my panel were complete bastards (I think they were aiming to make me cry!), but at least the student on the panel kept smiling to encourage me. The students I spoke ot you before and after the interview were really nice though and I ended up coming here. In my 4th year now, doing a BSc and you have your ups and downs with this uni (mainly with the secretarial staff who seem to get paid to do f**k all and couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery) but with all said and done, I love it here and wouldn't have gone to any other uni for anything!

Good luck guys- however your interviews turn out, don't worry about it. If they are awful to you, its usually because they are trying to push you, and if they're nice to you- you're one of the lucky ones!
