(And Hi everyone else, I am new to these forums...)

I asked this question by e-mail but didn't get a response. I understand that you may well be overwhelmed by e-mail enquiries, and this question may apply to other students so I am asking it here, too.

How does whether or not one is a current undergraduate at Imperial, due to graduate in summer 2008, affect an application for the 08 entry GEP?

Also, my extended period of work experience was during the time between A-levels and my degree, so a few years ago. Does this negate its value? I plan to obtain some more work experience before the course starts, but this is likely to be intermittant and voluntary, not a consistent period of employment.

    Best wishes

    ejc

I know for a fact that Imperial graduates will be given no special treatment in the application process, much to my dismay

So, I take it having no A Levels would put me out of the running?

I am predicted a 2.1 (verging a 1st, Im due a chat with my tutor this week so we'll see what shes willing to say!) in Bsc(Hons)Adult Nursing, but I got into Nursing via NMAS, on the basis of my GCSE grades, so I didn't sit any A Levels.

    Hi there,
I went to the open day for the grad entry course last month and it was mentioned that for graduates, the 1st year of the course is tailored to what you know already from your previous degree. Does this mean that what you have to study in the first year will be different from individual to individual?

    Thanks v much.

Unfortunately I think without the BBB A-Levels they wouldn't consider the application.

You'll be unlikely to be accepted without A levels.

There will be no preference to students from Imperial over equivalent Universities, but bear in mind that Imperial is currently ranked fourth in the World for biomedicine by the THES, so you're only competing with one other European University (Cambridge).

    Hello IC admissions,
My A level grades are ABC (C in chemsitry) - taken in 1996, if that makes a difference. But I do have a PhD in Immunology. Will I be rejected on the basis of my 'low' A level grades?

What do you mean by this? I don't understand - does it concern the prestige of the university at which you studies at undergraduate level?

The prestige of the department within a University will always be taken into account whether that be for postgraduate study, a job, or Imperial College's Graduate Entry medicine course. This will rarely be openly stated, but you'd be naive to assume that a 2.1 from Cambridge is regarded as exactly equal to a 2.1 from a University ranked 100th in the UK.

With a relevant PhD A levels will not be counted.

Are there any specific league table you follow in determining which universities are ranked??

Phew! My A level chemistry grade won't be coming back to haunt me yet again! It has been a bit of a ball and chain with some unis, even though I use chemistry way above A level every day in the course of my job!
