Zoe, I never said the halls were rat infested (never heard of that one), was actually talking about some of the places I've heard of people living in, just so they could be close to campus (I meant the bit about u dont get halls for all 6 years of course!).

Yes Beit Hall is lovely, if ur fortunate to get a place there! As u said, its like a lottery, who knows which hall u get! I was lucky and got Southwell in my first year, which had just been refurbished, it was the nicest hall at the time. My brother was unlucky and got one of the Princes Gdns halls, they had a moth infestation at one point and everything in his room was covered with them....not nice! They keep saying they're gonna refurbish the princes gdns halls, I'll believe it when I see it happen. Anyway, the process to do that will take a good 2 years at least, which means less accomadation for the students (seeing as they make up one of the biggest student halls), so guess they need to secure more places to stay (which will probably be quite grotty I can imagine) before the work can go ahead.

Not sure whether any of the halls are rat infested but the union is!
They've still got a moth problem in Southside at the moment!
Accomm is completely a lottery - fortunately I got my second choice of a shared room with ensuite, and in Beit which was a huge bonus.
