who said whitechapel is skanky! no offense, but a lot of the patients who you will see at the london and barts will be of of loads of different social/economic groups, exposing you to all sorts of diseases, morals and...PEOPLE! as a medical student, i want to be the best i can be, and being limited to certain types (i use the term loosely) of people who are at st mary's for example, limits the amount of exposure that you have to people. many students choose london unis cause they feel londons got a quality mix of people which help in making them a more empathetic and better medic-and the best unis on that reason are KCL, BL and SGEO with ucl not that far behind. in terms of range of exposure, my opinion is that imp's the worst.

my mate goes barts and she says the accomodation they got is really good, but the area not so much as its east london but the living makes up for it. also your always out in central therefore you benifit from saving a bit of cash as the place is not as expensive as imperials accomodation. thats what she says. also, your only in uni acc. for a year, after that you can choose where you will live! i also believe you are always moving around different hospitals so you may not always be at whitechapel.

yeah, they got a cool village there and its the best acc in my opinion, but im a home student so it dont matter. with moving around, its the same with all the unis except kcl and sgeo in london cos ucl, imperial and bl have dgh's everywhere, and you can easily be flung away. however i maybe wrong so check kcl and sgeo.

If you think that, mubeen, how come you applied to both Imperial and RUMS? Surely your signature should read "I need to become a medic at a uni which exposes me to people from socio-economic groups," based on those grounds

Nothing from either unfortunately. I'm not a Londoner myself so I didn't apply all to London, but visited the places on the open days, and no offence to anyone from those areas but I was actually quite shocked at the areas. It's nothing like that where I live. Which is kinda why I applied, because it's a change. And I also like dirt, so the dirty East End streets really appeal to me.
