There was no need make a separate thread about this.
The Imperial website clearly states:
'All applicants must have the following subjects at GCSE level, at grades AAABB or above (in any order): biology (or human biology), chemistry, English language, mathematics (or additional mathematics or statistics), physics. The science double award may substitute all sciences at GCSE. Equivalent points scores are not acceptable'
Achieving a grade B is fine.

Other references can also be found on Page 82 of the prospectus or on the website.
Agrees with wannabe, there really was no damn point creating another cursed thread.
Mind my fury.

just as above.
i'm beginning to think that an intelligent person would have figured out this was all in the prospectus..especially after being told so on other threads.Imperial Medic. Officially insane.

thats their minimum, requirement........... there are on average 10 well qualified candidates per place who have A grades coming out of their pockets. ICSM take on the best and to put it bluntly you need to show them your an exception with your solid works experience and also acing your exams in june.
You face an uphill struggle so i suggest you open your books and not another thread.Last edited by God_Complez; 01-09-2006 at 10:16 PM.

^but on the other hand, if they really wanted higher grades, they'd say so. It'll definately cut down on their paperwork.
But I do agree that you will probabaly need above-average work experience, voluntary work, AS grades etc. etc.

For reference, how much is above-average work exp and volunteer work?
One more thing amirah, even if you manage to get to the interview stage in a few years time, make DAMN WELL SURE you do not ask them questions that are aready answered in the prospectus. It's suicide. If you do not believe me, you have only one shot to test it out.

None of you have actually answered the question though, the prospectus is theoretical, whereas amirah's askin if anyone's actually got in with that
Ideals are like the stars - we never reach them, but like mariners, we chart our course by them.
Eeeks, well, here goes... applications made to Newcastle, UEA, Bart's and Imperial

^but if Imperial automatically didn't accept people with Bs at science GCSEs, they'd say so. And anyway, Imperial had ~2600 applicants last year, so she won't get a very representative result.
Competition is tough, you need to do the very best that you can do, regardless of what your GCSEs are to give yourself the best chances
