Well it's really a matter of what you want to get out of the course.

For me, the Cambridge course is perfect since I fully intend to go into academic medicine, so the first 3 years will really provide a solid grounding for me in the sciences. Not to say the Imperial course isn't good as well, but it's just that the Cambridge course would suit me more. =)

I just have a bit of a problem with Imperial's admissions process working in batches, though, since it gave me the feeling last year of them just interviewing people in batches and rejecting most of the rest of the people once they'd filled up their places...

Hello
So they said that to be considered further, a good BMAT score is firstly needed, and only then do they look at other aspects of your application to judge if your suitable for interview?
Do you have any idea what a good BMAT score is to them? or if they have a cut-off point etc....partly the reason why i'm likely to go for imperial and not UCL is because i felt they don't disadvantage you as much if you don't get under 19, but now you've scared me

I can second that -- I went to the open day, and they said that the first thing that they look at is the BMAT score. THEN they look at the rest of the application.

W.r.t a good BMAT score, I dunno. It could be that they'll operate a cut-off policy whereby applicants have to achieve x amounts of points to be considered, or they might place all their applicants in rank order and take the top x% or so. But I reckon, like UCL, that a good score of 19 is actually a competitively high one.

Same here... very worried.. but in all fairness, if I don't deserve a place, then I don't deserve it (this is, of course, assuming the way Imperial assesses if candidates deserve a place is a fair way of doing so... hah! Why do I think of Critical Thinking points AFTER the exam?)...
