Sorry Mmmm... I started off answering one thing and ended up drifting into another. I know that the 'Indeed' was directed at your comment, but then I seem to have shifted to some of the things further up the thread... Think I was a little too tired at the time!

whoops, forgot to mention that the girl I was talking about with maths and further maths, took her alevels 4 years ago- so the rules did change during that period, just like before in UCL you were not permitted to take an entry exam. (did not intend to cause any misunderstanding)

I took five A levels (if you include GS ) and was rejected without interview by two med schools (including Imperial), A levels are not the only thing that gets you noticed.

what did you get at AS if you got a C grade they would reject you but if you got AABbb then they would not, it is not about how many rather what rades

I ended up with AAAABC at AS then AAAABa at A level (which was acceptable enough back then ). My own theory about being rejected was an almost complete lack of work experience...

You took 6 AS levels?!?   How did they manage to timetable that for you?!? I'm going to assume that you didn't have any free periods then... :? :?

Have been shocked into silence  (very difficult thing to do).

PS. lol, everyone, ignore the comment about 'which was acceptable enough back then'  I'm sure it is still more than acecptable to get AAAABa now!!!! Would be super chuffed

Admittedly one of those AS's was General Studies I did have about three free periods a week (and didn't go to the GS lectures which did free up another hour a week).

(I love GS, it makes your AS/ A level certificates look a little more impressive... )

no acknowledgement because....

No I never received an acknowledgement from imperial which initally worried me, but i called them up and they have got the application, it never arrived because of the postal strike so I wouldn't worry if you never got 1, they probably do have it.

Good luck peeps.
