Honours classification for MB BS?
Hey.. This is some question that has been in my mind for a long long time.
Can someone actually clear the air over is there a classification for the MB BS degree? I know there aren't any 1sts or 2.1 or 2.2 for MB BS, but is there such degrees called MB BS (Hons) from Imperial or University of London?
I know though that if you do well in your 1st and 2nd year, you'll get a Distinction in Medical Science. But that doesn't equivalate a Hons degree right?
Thanks for your replies. By the way, I'm not a nerd, just that if there's such Honours classification system, why not work towards it right? =)

Nope
Not that i know of!
at ic you'll do your intercalated BSc which is a hons. in the MBBS instead of 1st etc you get pass, merit or distinction which is the equivalent - although most people get passes as the m/d are done on %age per year rather than a grade

that has also actually been on my mind. I have seen some people put MBBS (Hons) after their name but i've been told by must that that's wrong. The merit/Distinction grading has is established in terms of grading. But you never see an MBBS(Dist) or MBBS(Mer)

Warwick offers MBChB (Hons).
At the bedside emergency no one was ever heard to cry out 'Thank goodness, here comes the clinical pharmacologist'.

I think very few pple get hons, I havent known any1 at Imperial who has, and if they do I'm guessing they do so on performance in the final 2 years because they get grades for every speciality. The only reason to do well in the first few yrs is that u can stick "i got a disctiniction in yr blah blah..." on ur CV to make it look pretty
