Livin' at home

Hello to you all, I fear that I am a veritable newbie here from the masses of posts i see! This question i suppose goes out to those who have been through halls or have lived at home already. I am living in london as it is, and will be effectively moving 30 minutes worth of a commute away from imperial in under the month that it is. So basically i am wiggin' out at the moment as to whether to treat my home as an effective bed for sleep and food, but get a travel card so i can get around and hang out as much as i want....OR, to go into halls, end up effectively with £800 for the year as money to live off, but have the independance of being a few miles away. Hmm a tricky one for sure, as i do want to say travel in the summer with people or visit friends in other unis etc. Please could someone give me a hand on this matter!!

Merci bien to those able to solve my conundrem!

i have the same problem, cos i live 30 mins away too, and certainly living at home would be sooooo much cheaper. however, after year 1, we would move home anyway and would be spending very little money so i reckon its worth it to live out in the first year for the experience. so i opted to stay in halls despite it being really expensive. i figure, we could get jobs, plus we could pay off our debts in like our first year of working.
