Try posting in the pre med students general section, maybe medical admissions? The response rate may be higher, or was it specifically in relation to IC?

Well my offer to kings was 35 points, my offer to east anglia was 34 and my offer for edinburgh was 38, didnt get an offer from bristol. did my extended essay on medical physics. Although i didnt get any bonus points, apparently this year was particularly hard to get bonus points, but thats just probably wishful thinking. What sorta points are you expecting to get? 35 points is apparently equivalent to 3 A's at A-level. Although i know people who have done A-level and it seems a lot easier to get 3 A's then 35 points! However you have prob made the right choice in doing IB because uiniversities love it! I know people who did not reach their offers in IB and A-level and every single one from the IB still got their place where as i dont think any of the A-Level people did. Anyway i hope this helps, if you have any other questions feel free to ask.

hey, the offers seem pretty reasonable on the whole i suppose...though i was told that Oxford ask for straight 7s in ur HL subjects but im not applyin there so i supose it doesnt really matter! My predicted point score is 40 (not including bonus points)...now the trouble is actually getting that!! Medical physics sounds quite tough - im writing my ext essay atm...am stressing as its due in for tomorrow and still havnt finished! I totally know what you mean about getting 3 As...loads of my friends are doing A-levels and it really doesnt seem that difficult especially as they can resit modules. There's a bit of a rivalry thing going on in my school with Alevels and IB as, because its a new thing my school rly want the IB to be a success... so we have all the best tchas teaching us and lots of privileges...after our final exams were going on a trip to New York whilst the Alevel lot are still doing their exams....but i say thats pretty fair since we work so much harder than them during the year !

I dont think they do ask for straight sevens at higher level cos i know people who didnt get that and are going, but it is definitely in the 40's. Which uni's are you applying to? good luck with your extended essay, i hated doing mine, it was such an arse. What you doing it on? Another good thin is that the IB gives you loads to talk about at interviews and stuff. I'm just glad that its all over now thats for sure!

i cant wait for it all to be over too...would love to be in your position atm. I'm applying to Imperial (of course !) and also UCL, Kings and Bristol/Birmingham - still havnt made up my mind. My extended essay is on adolescents' views, beliefs and knowledge of HIV/AIDS and how these vary in different countries and what factors influence them...not difficult just time consuming. I've got to hand it in tomorrow and ive still got about 2,400 words to go...im all set for a long night...i better get to it... btw what school/college did you go to?

Hey,

Oxford don't ask for straight 7s, they ask for 7 7 6 And one of the 7s must be in Chem. The points total for my college (St Hilda's) was 39 without bonus, which is basically 40+. Your EE sounds interesting, much more so than mine- so tedious! And word of advice: The more sleep deprived you are, the better your TOK essay will be. I speak from experience, having lost out to a friend of mine who did his while... intoxicated, shall we say!
