Post Imperial(Plz read)

Hey to every1 who reads this, congratulations to all of you who are going to imperial this year, you are the lucky few for 2005.
Anyway my situation was, i had a conditional offer for this year of AABb, and was also shortlisted for an Imperial medics scholarship, which i worked solidly for 2weeks this summer to complete and hand in. Apon results day i got ABBa, in Chem, Bio, Physics and Maths respectively.
After being initially devastated, i picked myself up. I missed an A at Alevel biology by 4 marks, and sent 2 modules to be remarked. Imperial told me if it changed from B-A i was in possibly this year but definately next, depending on UCAS deadlines, but if not best of luck. Today my remarks came thru and i am now 2 marks off an A in biology.
As u may be aware record numbers have got into imperial for medicine. So from the shortlist of near misses, i was unable to be accepted.
I am even more dedicated to fulfill me dreams of becoming a doctor. I am at the moment drafting a letter to imperial, to see if i continued maths this year from As- to A2, and get an A, thus gaining AABB, will i be able to apply for 2006 without falling under the catergory of a re-sit candidate.
I would grately appreciate any advice from all those at imperial, or going to imperial, about the matter, and my chances. I have weighed up all options, but medicine is really wat i want to do, and imperial is definately where i want to do it at. THANX

PS, well done again for all those who have got in, and also good luck to all those doing first year re-sits, especially my friend Ashish

Dude! That sucks ass....
I hope Imperial accept your idea about continuing maths (good luck with P3)

Did Birmingham say anything? Or did you say anything to them?

oh I'm so sorry to hear that, thats such bad luck! You clearly must be a very capable person especially considering you were shortlisted for scholarship. I think the idea of taking maths to A level is a great (i doubt you'd be considered a re-sit candidate), obviously you'll have to check with imperial like you said. Dont give up on medicine, it seems like you're very dedicated to do it.

By the way, where else are you thinking of applying for 2006?

Best of luck to you xxxxxx

Woah !!! mate you clearly have the drive and ambition to be a top notch doctor together with the academic demands for the course.

I guess you just got a bit unlucky falling short of the grades cos ultimately the papers ARE maked by humans. Also, descriptive subjects like bio always have a vague marking scheme.

I think you should just put your motivation in writing together with your misfortune and all should be well. Taking maths for a-level will certainly tilt the scales in your favour.

Finaly, be careful where you apply next year cos jugding by your last year's choices you set yourslef some high standards.

Good luck.
