you have to buy a white coat from imperial when you get there, don't buy one before you go! you only use them for lab work...they make u wear nice plastic apron type things for dissection

Yes a white coat for dissection = given (Thanks Starburst for the info that you can get them there), but for the wards? Different places have different policies.

Is there anything special about the white coats from imperial or just a way to make money? I've got 2 which I used for Chemistry and Biology practicals, surely enough?

yeah, i suppose the white coats you've already got might be ok..u could bring them along anyway and ask. But i got the impression they wanted us to buy the white coats from them and most people did (but you're right, it is probably a money making thing ) The white coats from imperial are quite long, well...actually, maybe that was just on me, cos i'm tiny

you don't need a white coat for going on the wards in first year, u just need to dress smartly. In second year, or third year, u have to buy another, different (shorter) white coat for going on wards.

you don't need to buy a white coat until second year. they will try and make you buy a long one in first year but don't bother, just take your school one for the few random practicals you have in the first year (unless you don't have a school one, in which case do buy one).

dissection = sexy blue plastic disposable aprons and sexy blue disposable gloves. baby.

Ooo bring on dissection lol

Oook totally random: There's not likely to be any laundary room of any sort right? As in washing machines and an iron? Lol yeah I thought I was setting my hopes a bit high.
Is it strange that an iron is at the top of my shopping list?! Hmm.
