the initiation: meeting the imp cru

yo. lol..trust me I don’t talk the way I type but peeps I really wanna organise a little meet up..like I got loadsa ideas floating in my head.

Number 1- we shud have a mini party at my cuzs house (I might be pushing it there and knowing him he won’t like to be disturbed esp since he has actually started the four letter word ‘work’. lol)…but anyone else want to offer???

Number 2 – we should go out sumwhere…where I dunno…u peeps got any ideas?

Number 3 – we shud go for the old fashioned drink…now I don’t know London well so someone will have to think of the place and location…not too expensive mind.

Number 4 – maybe hmm we shud have a meal followed by an onslaught on erm sum activity…paintballing/skating/ or cinema or ahaha a visit to the V&A!?

Oh btw this thread was inspired by moi and it has nuffin to do with the fact that the grads/matures created one. In fact its not rivalling there thread cos I want all to come. Say ah cos like hmm I read that thread and thort aww wat about nongrads/matures? So neway like 500 new medstudents are going imp this year rite? well everyone come along!!

Oh also peeps start a discussion bout which number you like or if you got ure own ideas…and sum1 say wat dates…I think the beginning of august would be a good time…probably a week before results day…wat yah think???

A meet up thing would definitely be cool, just going for a drink or something like that I guess, except that I would say about a week after results day...don't want to tempt fate

P.S If anyone can rollerblade/skate we HAVE to do that!

lol I m not big on either

Some cool ideas in the top post

I think the best thing to do imo is to like name a date...sometime in August/Sept (sometime after results etc...) and just pick a random pub/time. Somewhere easy to get to/near imperial. Then everyone could just show up/maybe with a few friends and have it just like a pre-freshers meet up and keep it simple

I said that in the grad meet up thread as well. There is no reason at all to have a separate meet up or anything like that

I'd chose paintballing but I think I still have the bruises from last time I went. And lollll EP on a skateboard? Now there's an amusing thought..

Yeah I think maybe going out for a drink would be the best thing. I mean I'm up for your cousin's house, but I'm not sure he will, having started that 4 letter 'w' word. Also, who knows - I may be a 98yr old hairy paedo, with tattoos and no arms. Though I promise I'm not!! I'm a 98yr old woman hehehehhahahehhajkhjhaehahe.

Ok anywayz, sounds cool! Results day is what? Middle August? Soooo maybe the week after or something? There are loadsa yum restaurants in south ken, but not too sure bout the pubs round there.

Though the V&A does sound rather tempting There's no better way to get to know people than share your opinions bout some piece of crap on the wall. Sorry all you art/culture fans!! i.e. James.

Actually I'm a blader at heart (wow I sound so punk), but you're just jealous because you've got about as much coordination as a one-legged chimpanzee with inner ear problems...

Obviously no one is as cool as me, I'll just go alone then

Hi peeps, hope you're all well?

First of all, sorry if I made the grad meet-up sound really inclusive - I am really happy about meeting everyone whatever age, so a mixed meet-up is definitely good for me.
I was really more curious to see whether there were any older people coming to IC and what they looked like!!!! With my failing eyesight and difficulty in hearing I was wondering who would be joining me at the front of the class for lectures
Anyway, have been applying copious amounts of anti-wrinkle cream and hoping that I will blend in with you youngsters.......

Also, can't really afford to move into halls - much I would love to - they are so expensive and I already have quite a bit of debt! So was wondering if anyone else would be living at home or with mates and where they would be commuting from.

Well meeting up in a pub is good for me, I have been at IC for almost 8 years now (scary/sad eh?) so can definitely recommend a few places to go......oh and I do own some blades - Hyde Park is a great place to go skating but I am rubbish.

See y'all........
x

hey guys. this is great so you all agree that its gotta be AFTER results yea. Now this may sound like a stupid question but when is results day?? is it the 11th of August...like will the matures/grads have their results by then aswell?

also wat day? i think it should be a weekend...hmmm...saturday? is saturday okay or maybe you all want it to be friday afternoon or even sunday (tho for sum strange reason sunday always makes me feel sleepy...probably cos i know monday is coming. lol) anyway wat day of the week....then we also have to think of the time...also the duration....

Also titch even if u tried u could never make nething sound inclusive...but yeah i don't know london at all so someones gotta think of where?? oh btw i don't like the dark so its gotta be well lit. so do u peeps think we shud go for a drink or shud we eat out?? maybe we can do both....

and ermm there are more ppl than this who will be going imp yea? i guess they're all busy revising...hmmm so things shud get rolling after the official last exam date. but titch where wud you recommend?? i guess it all depends on numbers aswell but so far you guys being EP, steven, CP, Andreita and titch are deffo coming yea? YOU ALL MUST SHOW or else...

oh yea i got blades aswell!! i'm not good but hey at least i make great entertainment hehe. oooo i also used to own a skateboard but i never quite got the hang of it...hmmm maybe that can be my new hobby at uni. rah! lol.

me me me, i wanna come!

think results day is like 18th August rather than 11th.........with regards to drink or meal, why not go out for drinks first then, if we all dont hate each other, go for a bite to eat - i have free Macdonalds vouchers so dinner's on me!!! jokes lol, in case u think i'm actually gonna pay for your macdonalds

Titch79, you probably know what's best around Imperial so any suggestions?

Sounds good. I say after results day which is the 18th I think *AHHH Lori was right *. Meet up for a drink/diet coke and as cp said, put faces to names... or for those of us who have posted photos determine who's been posting falsley flattering images

Btw, what is wrong with the VandA!? No, seriously.

I went to the Turner, Whistler, Monet exhibition the other day, or as my sister said 'you're going on an expedition!'. Oh dear, anyway it was good. I feel I am rapidly alienating myself...
