hello guys!!!!

was wondering if any of you can give me some advice!

im a final year Manchester medical student and i am considering applying for fy1 & fy2 (as I am orignally from Hull) so I am considering applying to HRI and Castle Hill Hospital rotations.

I dont really know much about whats expected in Hull so I was wondering if you could answer a few questions. I would really appreciate if any of you lovely ppl could help me with!

1) whats teaching like for fy1/2?

2) Any particular specialities which gives excellent teaching?

3) im looking to do fairly medical rotations any recommendations?

4) (most importantly :P) is there opportunities for Banded work

sorry if my Qs seem a little dumb its because i never expected to apply to Hull

As far as I know the teaching is fairly good, but possibly better in one of the smaller hospitals (e.g. Scarborough etc), but either way I think the current F1s have good experiences. In any case you can only do one year in Hull, so you'd experience different hospitals anyway....
No idea what to advise you on rotations, I think you should look on the NYECFS website and go for programmes that don't have two lots of surgery!
Banding: Very good! All Hull, York and Scarborough jobs are 1B banded, as are most jobs in Grimsby and S****horpe, with the exception of a few which are unbanded for one 4 month rotation.
