    Question

I'm in a deep debate as to whether I should apply to either Imperial GEP or Hull-York undergrad.

I got a 640 avg. which is decent and I am an international student from the states. Suggestions are well appreciated! I am key on education primarily, location, student/night life, etc. Thanks people!
    2010 Application:

    Soton (GEP) - Unsuccessful
    Soton - Interviewed
    UEA - Unconditional
    Keele - Unconditional
    City (Optometry) - Conditional

Errmmm Imperial usually like something over 700, or slightly lower. 640 might be a bit too low, sorry!

    Good luck

and if you are key on night life UEA may not be the best option...Norwich is miles from anywhere! although they seem pretty american friendly..

Norwich is awesome for night life!!! The campus is not that far away from the city centre and they have regular student nights on campus. It is pretty good!! And FL, with a 640, i would also avoid Warwick. They are heavily subscribed and despite what they say, they do use UKCAT quite heavily. UEA on the other hand is a good choice as they like grad students and they also have a large intake of Americans every year. UEA is twinned with Dickinson college in PA, so they have alot of students doing a semester or a year here from Dickinson as well as other schools from the states.

I'm just wondering...are HYMS really hot on the UKCAT score? I know they stipulate some boundaries but if you are above these how ruthless are they? I'm in my 'weighing up' phase...I know they are graduate friendly so that is a bit plus for me, but I hold my hands up and say that I'm a fairly average UKCAT applicant (given the evidence of last year...wasn't awful by any means, just quite average) so would I just be shooting myself in the foot by being seduced by the graduate mature friendly stance?!

    HYMS: how to apply

The only way they use it is to score it as part of their admission process. So there is not high cut off point really.....
