Hull - Taylor Court vs Student Houses

Can I just get a rough idea of where the majority of the medics live in the first year? Do they go for the houses, or the flats? What's the pros/cons of each?

Personally, I can't see any advantages for the Taylor Court Flats: they're loud, the rooms are small, you have to share a kitchen with 7 other people and they're more expensive.
The houses tend to have fewer people in, have a common area, I think they now have broadband(?) and the rooms are bigger if you go for a medium or large room.
The only thing that I'd consider to be a good thing about Taylor Court is that the contract is for the entire year, whereas the house contracts don't run over the summer.

    HOUSES!!!

Student Houses. About 7 medics live in Taylor Court, 68 in houses. I live in a house. It's amazing. I'll direct you all to the HYMS 2009 Fresher's group on Facebook, it's being discussed at the moment.

    hey

Just found out i've got in so i'll be in hull in a house in september! can't wait. Was wondering if the houses have broadband now-i have one on auckland avenue? and if they dont what do they have? Also, is there anything you guys would recommend bringing-i.e. something which is an unlikely thing? so excited-i feel a big trip to IKEA is needed

    Thanks!

Yep, the houses have broadband It's on the university connection which is nice. I brought a bunch of lamps...But I'm quite strange like that I always like to have the house well lit
