I manually entered the course info with the H75 campus code and just put York University down as the address.

When doing anatomy, does HYMS do cadaveric dissections at all?

They use prosections, but you can do an SSC in dissection where you get allocated a part to dissect

Is there a list of SSCs on the website anywhere? Can't seem to find one.
I'm mad keen on emergency medicine, one of our campus guides said that it was a possibility so I'm hoping that's on the list.Andrew

You'll be glad to know that there are two A&E SSCs in Phase 2 (one in Hull, one in S****hrorpe). I've done the Hull one and it was really good! Also, in 3rd and 4th year you should be able to go to A&E whenever you want to in the peripheral sites (S****horpe, Grimsby and Scarborough). Not sure about York, but Hull we're not really allowed in...

There are also A+E SSC's in York and Grimsby too.
You can also go to A+E when you feel like it (have to ring or sign up 1st) but for instance when I was in grimsby, I spent many hours clerking patients, doing blood and examinations etc. and the doctors were very keen for me to write management plans and evaluate test results (under their supervision obviously) so it was a great experience - I think it's much easier to do this on the smaller peripheral sites though rather than the base sites, although I did check about York, and I believe it's possible, although I haven't tried it yet!
You can also go out with the ambulance and rapid response crews (have done it in Grimsby - not sure about anywhere else)
So you can get lots of acute experience - also on MAU.

You can also self-propose SSCs from 1st year - although i'm not sure how much benefit you'd get from one before you have more clinical skills in phase 2 - you basically find a tutor thats willing to teach you what you're interested in and mark your assessment, then between you them and HYMS agree criteria that you have to meet in order to pass. Not many people take this up in phase 1, so it's useful to know about
