So... i've got an interview on the 15th December in Hull. Anyone know how many people in total are interviewed, and how many offers are given out?
Also, what do people think about the interviewers not seeing our personal statements. I personally am quite worried about that, as I think it'll be hard to get everything good off my personal statement and mention it in interview.Last edited by Fawaz; 24-11-2006 at 09:42 PM.

hey!
They invite approx 500 people for interview (so that’s practically half the total number of people who applied) and then they rank the top 300 highest scores and make them an offer. All the scoring system is on their web site etc. Also, usually there are two people who interview you. You stand outside the door and wait until they call you. Normally there's no table between you and the interviewers ..(so nowhere to hide your nervous hands lol). After the interview they give you a big talk and a tour of the campus... well that was the procedure in hull 3 years ago, not really sure now. Good Luck all!3rd year HYMS student

ooh sounds quite like my Sheffield interview last year, and although I thought it went well at the time they didn't think so! I'm going to get that interviews book everyone keeps talking about and start clipping articles out of the paper and New Scientist again!

Yip that interview book is really good... i even find it quite fun to read lol. Having that book and researching the bbc health website and some hot topics in new scientist is probably all you need.
My interview is also in york on the 20th roz so i'l hopefully see you there!3rd year HYMS student

sounds good
I just looked up modernising medical careers on the nhs website because I know some people have been asked about that in other places. there's a good adobe acrobat download which i printed off making comparisons between the previous system and the new pathway.
