of course, yes, a substantial proportion of applicants apply wffout meting minimum requirements for every med skool.
its much less a case of sifting out excellent candidates and more a case o sifting out those who dont fit a stipulated bill.

huh, its fuuny, after I got rejected last year by everyone I decided to sort of tailor this application to places I thought I could get in easiest. After e-mailing various universities I decided to apply to Kings again and even hought it was my best chance of getting in because what I could gather about their admissions process. Now it looks like Kings is the least likely for me to get in. I guess it just shows its probably better to not try to second guess the admissions tutors.
I thought Kings didnt use gcses much!? Im pretty sure they e-mailed me that they only used em for minimum requirements

yes thats true as far as i know.
trubble is, they attract peeple from skools where they are made to believe that gcses are everyfing, so they more likely to be made to believe that they are more close to the be all and end all of the application, rather than finking it thru rationally and realising they are a component that can vary, depending on the several systems of applying to kings that one uses.
its simpler that way, and meks them feel more secure since they ave the gcses already.

You have a point there Gizmo,
However, I don't think that the GCSEs are everything - UKCAT scores may help, and if not then your motivation for medicine as reflected in your personal statement...
