OMG! 10 Days 'til a Really Important Date With Destiny!
Right im an internal Kings applicant, currently studying anatomy.
I recieved an email today detailing me of the date of my medical interview and it is only 10 days away - on the third of November!
I was ecstatic for about 10seconds and then realised that i only have 10days left to prepare!
As a result if this sudden moment of epiphany i am now officially cacking my pants - i have never applied for med before and although im confident in myself and the strength of my application, i dont know what i should be doing over the next 10days. Obviously brushing up on my PS, work experience etc is essential but what else do you think i should get up to before the big day?
Id really appreciate any advice you can come up with.

And in addition to the above comments I would also practice interviews, like with a friend etc. If you have a digital video camera then record yourself with the outfit you would use at interview s that you can pick out any movements, nervous hand gestures etc. that need improving. That is important for the presentation.
Video is better than just an audio recordr because how you appear to them (speech, body language) is very important, just a thought.
Good luck and best wishes.

firstly congrats on your interview supraspinatous
secondly, i'd definately recomend knowing your personal statement like the back of your hand. also, some good advice i got last year was to read the latest popular science journals out there, paying close attention to the medical sections ofcourse. dress smartly, and remember they dont expect you to know everything a doctor should already, so dont worry. you've done well to get this far so answer the q's as best you can and be confident
jus outta curiosity, is it normal procedure to get interviews from kings this early for internal students? ...lol! i just read the question back and it sounds like i'm implying something bad..or something, but i'm not at all...oh you guys know what i mean
goodluck
and wow, the video thing sounds like a great idea.

I had an internal interview at King's in 2006....it's a very informal chat but yes do know your personal statement like the back of your hand as this is what the majority of the interview will be about.
Also there is an ethical question that they get you to prepare an answer for just before you go in for interview, but again they are not expecting you to know everything but to able to give a valid opinion and be able stick to it.
I would suggest reading the student BMJ for some up to date medical news as this may also be asked by the interviewer (usually two).
Good luck...I know they didn't give me much notice either...

are they going to ask about the personal statement we submitted with the GSS form, or the one we submitted with ucas? i submitted my gss form in june, and quite a few things have changed then, and so my personal statement i submitted with my ucas form is quite different.
Are both interviewers going to be academic staff, or is there usually one medical student on the interview panel??

They don't have medical student interviewers. I'm not sure in your case what personal statement they're going to use as my statement remained unchanged when I submitted my application internally and with UCAS...I would suggest knowing everything you wrote down (in both PSs) because they (usually a two lecturers) will have a copy of it to hand in the interview room.
