Do I stand a chance? Please advice.

Hi, I am an international student hoping to go to GKT. I did the Cambridge O levels (equivalent to your GCSEs) and scored 6 A*s, 3 As, and a B in chemistry. I have a UKCAT score of 2710 (678). For the A level predicted grades, I have:

Chemistry - B
Biology - A
Mathematics - A
Geography - A

Am I at a disadvantage because of the B in chemistry? I read on the website that the minimum requirement is AAA so I'm rather worried; do they make their first cut based on grades? I don't want to end up wasting a choice.

Would also appreciate any advice on other medical schools which do not require an A for chemistry. Thanks.

hmmm.. I'm not sure. I've been told that Chemistry was the most important A. But perhaps I've been misguided. You're grades are fantastic regardless, and a solid UKCAT score too! I suggest contacting the Universities themselves.

I think the AAA is predicted (and actual) grades for A2 level. Or at least that was the impression that I got.

They tend to be quite pedantic about it since tey have enough people meet the offers to not need to compromise. If in doubt --> phone them.
