Graceylee, I have been thinking, don’t get too frustrated with your UKCAT score. There are some universities that don’t use it and others that use it to a very limited extent.
If you are concerned then think carefully about where you choose to apply and you could still stand a good chance of getting a place somewhere, even if you don’t make it into Kings.
Bristol and Birmingham don’t use it at all. Although they are both part of the UKCAT consortium, St. Georges and Sheffield are not yet using it in their selection process and are waiting for further evidence as to whether it is useful or not. Edinburgh say they use it as 8% of their selection or something ridiculous and I think Leeds rank different parts of your application from 1-10 and add it all up, so you can afford to fall down slightly in one area.
These are just a few examples I can think of.
My point is, if you don’t make it into Kings, but end up somewhere else, it’s hardly the end of the world. I got rejected from my first choice; now I am about to start at my second choice I really couldn’t care less.

What do Kings say about doing GCSE's early? Would they consider an A in year 9 or 10 equivilant to an A* in year 11- or are they purely looking for the number of A*'s? Any ideas????

they just want some good gcses. not ones taken early, they dont show you are a good candidate for the career.
they dont mention them in their websites, its just your skool teacher who is getting you to fink its important becos its good for his/her career.

Correct.
Amount A*/A is all that matters, not that you've taken 'em early. (well if it's mentioned in your reference, it might help)

But the A* count doesn't encompass A grades as well! Surely, they'll take into consideration that A grades in year 9 are as worthy as A*'s.. shouldn't they? I don't have many 4 A*'s and 9 A's. Compared to most, this amount of A*'s is pityful. Am I at a disadvantage?
