UKCAT Scores for Kings GEP Entry

Hi everyone... thought it might be useful to start a thread to see what the average UKCAT scores are for those people applying to Kings GEP. Something to do to fill in this limbo period

Thought it might help to get an idea of what the cut-off might be for the interview (I know they don't do all interviews this year based on the UKCAT score but they do say they will interview the highest scores and then look at personal statements/references etc for scores beneath this "cut-off")

Anyway...I got 722.5

Also applying to Barts GEP and 5 year...eeeeek!

I applied to King's GEP, and my UKCAT avg was 700.

Let's hope we get interviewed, let alone in.

My average UKCAT score was 730. Does anyone have any idea when we will be hearing from them? Has anyone gotten at least a confirmation e-mail or something?

I know that the interview dates for the GEP are 29th and 30th January and that we are supposed to get at least two weeks notice so I'd say we'll hear yay or nay by end of december of early january....

I've not received a confirmation email/letter. Just trusting in the UCAS system and faith in the digital gods.

Hi there, I call them today as i did not have any news from them and they confirmed they got my application. Nothing else I am afraid.....

Hi Stella - if you don't mind me asking, what was your UKCAT score? (trying to get an idea of cut-off for the GEP)

I am sure it will make you feel better, I got 563!!!!! I found it really not made for me, well my english level probably did not help but still, I found it really hard.

It's a very odd exam! I completely ignored the advice on the UKCAT website saying that no revision is necessary and worked solidly on practice questions for about 2 months - I don't think those type of questions come naturally to me at all! Especially the abstract ones - I had to really train my brain to see any pattern - so in that sense I don't know if it really measures intelligence as such. More a measurement of how wel you can train your brain to deal with certain problems...

Exactly

If you have a scan over the GEP threads you see that grads have higher scores. This isn't because they've got higher innate intelligence, but because they looked at the website and it's advice, decided it was a crock of bull£$%! and trained themselves to be prepared for it. I know of a few A levelers that took the advice and got a miserable score. Again, not saying people doing A levels are less intelligent, but the grads are more savvy about going into exams without a sylabus
