I remember I went out shopping and bought loads of stuff for cooking; pans, knives, plates, spatulas, a cooking timer, thinking I would be in self catering only to be told I was in catered halls and the most we'd have was a sink & a microwave so had to return the lot :-(, however, looking back I think being catered is far easier in your first year, there's a lot of new stuff to get used to, never mind trying to figure out what & how to cook!

Somehow they let me in, still amazed.

It was through clearing so all of you who get rejected next year, don't give up hope completely, only almost.

It'll be interesting to manage to do all the stuff needed in time as I'm an international student and will probably move the 11th, yikes!

Yeah, I was on the waiting list but got rejected in may but then got a new letter end of july and here I am now.

You need to have been on the waiting list to get one of these last minute places.

as far as i know, you're supposed to get all of that information in the post at least two weeks before you start.

They rang me up and asked if I was still interested in a place. And then I got an e-mail asking me to send in my clearing passport so my offer could be processed. I don't know if it did any difference that they had my results already since I graduated the IB in 2005 with 38 points.
