Looool, I'd be shocked if you find any en-suites in London halls where the shower room is not small enough so you pee from the shower into the toilet if you were so inclined...
My experience of estate agents in London is not as bad as Chwirky's but still would advise everyone to be cautious as they couldn't get a damn whether you'll be happy in the place or not, as long as you sign something they're happy!
To give a small anecdote, a friend of mine was moving in with 2 friends (all girls) and the estate agent offered them a 'lovely gem' in Hackney....on a council estate..... MILES from anywhere!!

hey... i'm on the 4-yr GEP starting this september. i did look through the pack but thought the open day would be the best chance of asking about accommodation options. some of the halls have dedicated places for mature students, but i think a private place could be just as good. Looking forward to finding out a bit more about it.
On a separate subject, does anyone else on here come from a non-science background? if so, any plans to learn anything over the summer.... my current thinking is to take it easy, save some money and worry about the learning come september. hope we'll find out a bit ore about that next week as well.Newcastle GEP/5yr

Hi Nick
I think you are right we should have more idea about accommodation after the open day - I'm really looking forward to it :-)
With regards the non science background...I finished my degree 8 years ago, and can remember hardly anything, it was in Chemistry and Sports Science though I have a bit of knowledge somewhere, hopefully :-S But Kings did say that Science background was not necessary and I have read somewhere - not sure if it is on here or their website that they give us some pre course reading - but not sure when or if that is even the case anymore.
Look forward to meeting you soon :-)2010 Application

there is a post grad house in hampstead where there's loads of well, grads.
Stay clear of foxtons estate agents whatever you do, the rest are fairly ripoffy as well but nowhere near foxtons. Best thing you can do is to walk down borough high street and go into all the estate agents and see what they have.
