I'm sure they told us that we'd hear via UCAS first

hi everyone who is waiting for news from the GPEP interviews - i spoke to Kings admissions today and they told me it would be at least another week before offers come out. Good to know as I was getting into a track-refreshing frenzy thinking they would come out today.
    good luck!

Thanks for the info Ursula - I was starting to check my emails a little too often as well! Deep breath and relax for a week...

    Thanks for the info.

They did say they'd let us know in 2 weeks. Thought it was a bit optimistic, but hoped they would.

This waiting game sucks. Big time. I'm expecting a rejection (worst interview ever) but would rather know sooner than later! A week is so long!

To be fair to KCL they are commissioning an artist to paint all our decisions on a wall at the Tate Modern for us to critique...these things take time! "Err...it's a man that...err....looks like me...and it says rejection on his forehead". They're way too big time for letters or UCAS Track!

....I did not enjoy the interview.

Well shit. I was just reading the prospectus again and saw a little piece of information that I hadn't noticed before...

You know how if you don't quite make it onto the GPEP then it's possible to get an offer for the 5 year course? This only applies if you meet the minimum entrance requirements for graduate applicants to the 5 year course:

"The minimum entry requirement is a pass at A/AS-level Chemistry and Biology plus an upper second class honours degree. Alternatively, a lower second class honours degree is acceptable combined with a masterҒs degree (with at least a merit). Graduates who have only one A/AS-level from Chemistry or Biology will still be considered if they have successfully completed a unit/module in the other subject as part of their degree, eg AS-level Biology plus a unit/module in Chemistry."

... so given that I haven't done any Biology since GCSE, this means if I don't get onto the GPEP, I don't get in at all

    what?!? Holy.... uh oh.

Actually, I was wondering about this a while ago and had emailed them about it, the reply that I received was:

"We assume that all candidates who get as far as interview for the GPEP have done extremely well, and will be able to cope with the 5 year course without having to take the Chemistry and Biology AS/A levels that are required for standard entry as a graduate to the A100 programme."

    Oh. Thank. God.

You have actually made my day. So now I just have to sit here patiently waiting and hoping I was in the top 75 out of 164...

    Good luck to you too
