Thread: GPEP interview....thoughts?

I had my interview at King's 14:00 on Tuesday, and I was quite happy with the way it went. I was just a little bit concerned that, had I had an interview on the otherside of the room, things might have turned out differently (I noticed there was more women on the otherside). I guess, as in all interviews it depends on who does the interviews, but I can't help thinking that such an arbitrary designation of letter or number might have had influence over my possible future there...
Fingers crossed anyway.

Had mine yesterday.
Some went really well, some okay, some.......Ouch!
The aim of all these things is to fully test everyone and leave people feeling like they have been interviewed good and proper so guess they did a good job on that one. I actually quite like the MMI format but it has left me wondering whether I actually did okay or whether I made a complete balls-up of it all, we will find out soon enough!!!!!!!
Good luck to everyone.

I really like the MMI format, I had mine on Tuesday at 3pm. It was a little daunting and I know that I completely screwed up 2 of them. I felt that 2 went really well and the others I had no idea. For 24 places, I don't rate my chances high but I think it's definitely a fair way of interviewing candidates, definitely better than the traditional ICL way imo.

I'd agree, despite feeling it didn't go well i'd say it's a fair way of interviewing. I also thought the ethics question was my strongest although we did get a lot of time to prepare on that so maybe that helped. Without giving too much away (and breaking any confidentiality agreements) there was one particular question that I have been having repeated flashbacks about for 2 days now and i'd say that those of you who have been interviewed could guess which one it was!!!! That was a very long 5 minutes!

Haha what a tiny world! Well I'm sure you told me your name, but I'm guessing its Dan. Mine is Yasmine rather than Smeane but its a nickname that has stuck.....I guess we'll both know how the other did in a couple of weeks...I pretty much would bet my (imaginary) life savings on the fact that I get rejected....boo

Well Yasmine, you guessed correctly I am a Dan! This is all an elaborate extension to the interview...and for guessing correctly i'd like to offer you a place at King's.....would be good/massively irresponsible if the admissions process worked like that.
I thought about it afterwards and realised that, given the number of places vs the number of people interviewed, at least 135 people would have to have done worse than me for me to get an offer, and it's not even as if any of us were just a random 160 people off the street...we were "the cream" hahaha. So for that reason i'm putting it down as valuable experience and looking forward to Manchester and Warwick in the next couple of weeks/months.
Will definitely let you know how I got on though! So you've got a pretty long wait just for Warwick now then?
