Btw, xsilent, which unis did u apply to last year? I know Barts was one?

    Last year I applied to:
    Barts GEP
    Southampton GEP
    Warwick GEP
    Newcastle GEP

I got rejected by all four of my choices w/o interview based on my UKCAT score of 658-if memory serves me correctly. I was gutted, but on a positive note, it did make me more determined. I picked up the pieces and have come back with a stronger application (well I hope so anyway).

I didn’t want to apply to Kings GEP as I knew my UKCAT wouldn’t be high enough. Well Nabbe, you may have had 2 rejections, but you only need one offer!! Just keep hopeful, you never know what’s waiting for you around the corner.
*Ding Ding* Time for my second round...

    Kings 5yr: OFFER - INSURANCE
    Barts GEP: OFFER - FIRM
    Warwick GEP: OFFER - DECLINED
    Southampton GEP: rejected 18/3

    Psychology BSc: Upper 2.1 ~ UKCAT: 692.5

Cupcake: I agree with you. Would be great to study together someday! Then we could all complain to each other when things get tough although we want it so much =D

And xsilent, I guess all GEPs is far more dangerous =) Rather this way. And you're right of course, who knows what will happen. But I've stopped stressing excessively about things since the holidays, hope to continue this way till the end of the cycle.

Another thing that came into my mind considering us grads applying to 5-year course is that I wonder if they're interviewing for GEP first, cause they consider the interviewees also for the 5-year program and then coming back to us and comparing us to those.

    Hi Guys,

Am I right in saying that for the 5-year course, being a grad has no additional benefits, and so that whole 'not yet rejected' idea applies to the undergrads aswell? I need good news

Actually, I'm wondering would they have got through all the applications once by now?
    Med Entry 2010

    KCL A100 - Acknowledged
    Edinburgh A100 - Acknowledged
Dundee A100 - BIG FAT SMELLY REJECTION cunts
St. Andrews A100 - Apparently I was acknowledged six weeks ago :S

    UKCAT: 637.5

Predicted Irish Leaving Cert: A1 A1 A1 A1 A1 A1 A1 A2 (Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Maths, Applied Maths, English, French, Irish)

    Irish Junior Cert: A A A A A A A A A A

Not very optimistic about the whole process.

I just phoned Kings as have had no word either, no acknowledgement, they said my application was still "under review" and could not tell me anymore, probably polite way of saying you've been rejected. They also said they interview up till April so they are calling people for interviews up until then so could still be a while.

well if it is under review, then at least you know they have recieved it-so it is kinda like an acknowledgement. Shhhh!! don't say that, it's what they told me too :P lol

They do interview quite late, so there's still hope. From what I've seen of the medical schools they tend to reject people in waves (as and when they do interview invites). So the fact you haven't been rejected so far is a very good sign x
