Applying for both GEP and standard courses? (And a question about foreign diplomas)
Hi there!
I've already asked about this (among other questions) in another topic, but I assume people will feel much more concerned in this section, so here it goes:
On King's prospectus, they state that GEP applicants can, if not successful at interview, be granted a 5 years course offer. But they also add, that you might still want to improve your chances of getting in by applying for both GEP and standard course independently.
Is there any point in doing so?
In other words, if you get rejected from GEP course, and not offered the 5yrs course either via this process, can you really be luckier with the mere standard course interview/selection?
And while I'm about it, I was wondering on the off chance if anyone had experienced this case: I graduated a master of Architecture in France. But the point is, here, in France, we don't use the UK 'honours' system. All I can get from my then university awarding body is a reference confirming that I scored the second top grade. So, concidering King's GEP course's only requirement is a 2.1 degree or better : do you think my degree meets it?
Would they consider this on the individual basis? Or simply discard my application without paying attention?
Thanks for reading!

Hello!
I would suggest you get in touch with King's to ask tomorrow because you do not want to be wasting a choice if they will not look at your degree. I have decided to apply to both the four and five year programmes myself, but I received my post-high school education in the UK, so I cannot advise you on that front.
Good luck!

Kings will only consider you for the five year course if you either:
- get an interview for the four year (ie you're in the top few percent of GEP applicants) and then don't get an offer; or
- have applied directly for the five year
hence there is definitely (if you want to go to Kings) an advantage in applying to both rather than just GEP because if you are like most gep applicants you'll be knocked out before the interview stage and never get a shot at the five year.Libs

That's just what I needed to make my mind up! Thank you!

I've just read through the standard course years 1 & 2 curriculum, and it looks fairly interesting!
As for the honours are concerned, seems like it should be fine, but I shoud be sent additional information and the verdict by the next few days... so I'll just keep fingers crossed
