Anatomy at Glasgow

Hi Guys,
Hope some current students at Glasgow can answer this one for me - what type of anatomy is done at Glasgow (full body or sectional)?
I was at the open day in June and the student doing the guide said there was full body anatomy but I have just spoken to someone senior in admissions who says this is not the case.
I'm a bit confused and have mentioned anatomy in my personal statement so don't want to look a tube if I've got it wrong!
If someone could clarify that would be fab!

ok well depends what you mean by "full body dissection" - some people take this as having a full body that you can get stuck into as opposed to being given a heart or a kidney to dissect. others take it to mean taking apart the same body for a year, looking at different structures as you go.

at glasgow, you will work on a whole body looking at specific areas at each session. eg open the abdomen on one session, look at the intestine, go back to look at liver, kidney etc etc

you wont have the same body all year - just depends what table you happen to be standing at.

as a further point, you tend to focus on disection of the abdomen and thorax, there really is little scope to head up, down or lateral from there unless you are lucky enough to get a place on a SSM which covers those areas.

anatomy teaching at glasgow is exceptional in my opinion (those who teach it are by far some of the most enthusiastic i've ever encountered), it just isn't focussed on enough to allow you to feel competent when in a surgical situation (personal opinion)
