Has anyone applied to the PMETB for a CEGPR and been successful without being told they have to complete another 3 to 6 months of additional training?
Even though a CEGPR might be attainable for a UK grad I get the impression that for an IMG it's impossible - of course the PMETB and the RCGP insist that every case is assessed on it's own merits.
I'm a UK national just finishing a Family Medicine residency program at the Mayo Clinc - it's incredible that an Eastern European GP is able to practice in the UK without any additional training, especially as their training is probably 10 to 15 years behind the UK and US purely from a technology perspective - but I will probably be told that I have to do an extra 6 to 12 months training as I have no NHS GP experience - and it will cost me over a 1000 quid to be told that.
Any personal perspective on the PMETB would be welcomed?
