moving up the ladder.....

Hi everyone, just wondering how do people move up the ladder in medicine? (nothing rude please lol) and also is it possible to go from staff grade to consultant, if so, how?

google 'Modernising Medical Careers' (also at Home) and you'll get a pretty good idea of how it works in theory. No-one can tell you how it works in practice, because it's a new system and no-one has finished it yet!
