is there any hope?

Hey i was wondering what my chances are of getting into Medicine as a graduate entrant as i don't have the required grades to apply directly.

My GCSE grades are poor and so are my A-levels however I can apply to some what limited Universities with my grades.

I'm thinking of doing radiotherapy(therapeutic) and then apply to medicine but I havnt started my application yet and was wondering my best options?

any help will do

Thanks

Dude, I reckon your only chance to get in next year would be to retake all your A levels this year. But to be honest, your best bet is to aim for a first in biomed and then apply. That way you've got a cracking degree AND loads of experience. You can't get by on experience alone, you need evidence of good academic progress. And hey, if you apply for a graduate program, then it's only 1 extra year in the long run. Plus biomed is an awesome degree.

You won't get in for 2009 as applications have already closed.

You are looking at starting in 2010 at the very earliest, i suggest you get down and knuckle those A levels.

Physics and chemistry should be like falling off a log providing you:
a) phone local school a couple of weeks ago and ask to be put in as an external candidate to sit the exams.
b) buy yourself some text books
c) download the module specifications and stick very very closely to these
d) past papers, lots of past papers.

Then you will have to hope you can swing the practical exams, but you could viably get A grades in physics and chemistry in a year without too much sweat. Biology could be a bit of an arse to do that way, but i can't see another option really.

All the best.

Oh, OCR seem to be the best as regards availability of specifications.

Just study a degree and then apply as a graduate, plenty of people go in this way.
