Unhappy Maths Foundation GCSE

I really like to study medicine but i heard that i might not be able to do "A" level chemistry if i do the foundation maths.
I am having extra lessons in maths so that i can take the higher paper and aim for a B in maths.
I am good at chemistry, biology and physics it's only maths that i have a slight problem and maths is the only exam i have been entered for the foundation.
It's so unfair, is there any hope left.

Hi.. Only you know if you're up to the Higher paper.. If you think you are, tell somebody! I too am not the best at maths, but I work at it, which seems to be what you're doing (extra lessons- very swotty). If you're not entered for Higher, I doubt it will ruin your chances of getting on the Chemistry course. Some 6th form colleges now offer Access to A-level maths courses which can be taken in conjunction with A.S. level sciences. The course is usually for people who got about a C grade. You take an exam at the end of the year which then bumps up your GCSE grade. If the worst happens, and you have to sit the dreaded Foundation paper, this gives you an extra chance, whilst helping you brush up on any maths you'll need for lovely Chemistry.
